Fresh Air Series Races
Dates: Generally, every second Thursday evening, starting in December.
Once again Fresh Air is sponsoring our Thursday evening race series. This series of races caters to all levels of skiers with categories for seasoned to citizen/recreational racers and for children from 6 years of age to masters skiers of any age.  View the schedule above for the dates for all races and check out the poster for more information.

Each race series takes place on a Thursday evening with registration closing at 6:30 p.m. and race start at 7:00 p.m.  No late registrants are permitted so we can start each race on time.

The cost to participate in a single race is $800 per race or $2500 for the season for participants not registered in Lappe programs.  For those enrolled in any Lappe program, there is no additional fee beyond the program fee. Weather permitting, we should get in a number of weeks of racing.  Visit Lappe’s web site www.lappenordic.ca for specific race details, including any notice of cold weather cancellations, as the season progresses.

New – Prizes Every Race!
Prizes from our sponsor, Fresh Air, will be awarded based upon a random draw from among race participants and volunteers at each race.

Lappe Invitational
Date: Scheduled in conjunction with Regional Race Calendar
The Lappe Invitational's new on day format is designed with family fun and the serious racer in mind. There are usually two race events: one designed for skiers who prefer a more traditional approach to ski racing, the second designed for the young at heart, and includes Nordic Cross Sprints.

Women on Skis
Date: Usually the 3rd Sunday in February
This event sells out every year so register early to ensure your participation. It's a full day of skiing fun, fitness, and learning plus lunch, sauna, and more.  Contact Susanna Puiras if you wish to help.

24-12-6 Hours of Lappe
Date: Held on the weekend after Canadian Ski Nationals (late March)
Test your endurance and willpower at Lappe’s epic 24-hour relay. Ski solo or in teams in a 6 hour, 12 hour or 24 hour relay and fundraiser. Try to beat the solo records set by Werner Schwar at 407.8 km and Kelly Henry at 284.8 km, join the Team 500 km club, or try to beat the fundraising records set by some of our local Jack Rabbit kids. Prizes are awarded for distance and funds raised in support of the Lappe Nordic Ski Club and Thunder Bay’s National Development Center (cross-country skiing).

Run and Ski
Date: The weekend after the 24-12-6 Hours of Lappe
Our final “official” event of the season, the Run and Ski is a fun event for all ages. This event is followed by Reijo’s famous kilometer board draw and end of season prizes.
