Lappe ‘Lympics
The Lappe Nordic Jackrabbits & Track Attack Programs are looking forward to hosting the Lappe ‘Lympics at the Lappe Ski Centre on Saturday March 22 from 11 AM – 1PM.
The Lappe ‘Lympics event involves each Jackrabbit level trying out some of the Winter Olympic Games sports (with a skiing modification :)) There are typically 5-6 stations and the levels rotate through every 10-15 minutes.
All Jackrabbit levels can report to the stadium for 11:30 AM – there will be 6 flags flying – please find your level’s ‘country’ and meet with others from your country/level:
Bunnies/Level 1- Canada
Level 2 – Finland
Level 3 – France
Level 4 – Italy
Track Attack – Germany
*Note: Depending on participant numbers, we may have to combine groupings.
Our ‘opening ceremony’ – and team building ski /cheer with flags- will begin shortly after 11:30 am. The 6 stations are below with locations in the stadium – Note – these could be modified before the event :))
Biathlon – Location at the Tree island
Ski Jump/Downhill Slalom – Location Sledding Hill
Ski Curling – Location Finish line – Stadium
Obstacle Course – Location TBD – Stadium
‘Team Sprint Relay’ – Location Pond Loop
Ski Hockey – Location Stadium
*Please arrive between 10:45 – 11:15 AM to ensure you have time in the chalet to change into your ski boots, go to the washroom, get into your country grouping, face paint, etc. :))
**Willow Springs Nordic Cafe will be open in the chalet with hot food and drinks before and after the event (Finn pancakes, soups, buns, brownies, cookies, hot cocoa, apple cider, etc.)
