First of all, we sincerely hope that you and your loved ones are doing well and able to stay healthy during this pandemic. We have been working hard to develop a COVID friendly plan for our annual training programs, and we’ve also finalized our program offerings and pricing for our fall and winter programs. We are, however, disappointed to announce that we have had to cancel our popular Spring Kids Running Wild program.
We invite you to check out the details here for our year-round and summer programs. Program information for all programs (spring/summer, fall and winter) can be found at lappenordic.ca. If you would like an overview of our programs and easily compare what’s included in each, have a look at our NEW Overview Document, which is also on our website. We encourage you to take a look and find the program(s) that is right for you, then head on over to Zone4.ca and get yourself enrolled. Registration is open for all programs, and instalment plans are available for our year-round programs, and some of our September start-date programs.
We also invite your to save the date for our Annual Program Kick Off Camp at Sleeping Giant Provincial Park scheduled for the weekend of September 11 to 13. Registration and details will be available by July 1. All club members aged 10 and up are invited to join us.
Lappe Head Coach Eric will continue to offer excellent virtual group training sessions and small group training planning and meetings on a weekly basis. If you are wanting to continue or start training with him, then be sure to register on zone4.ca by Thursday May 7th at midnight to receive your first training email on Friday May 8th. We will have a Season Kick Off Zoom meeting on Saturday May 9th at 9:30 am. If you aren’t sure which annual program is right for you, communicate directly with coach Eric at [email protected]. Here is an overview of these programs.
Annual Training Programs and Spring/Summer Dry-land Programs:
Lappe offers 3 year round training programs, as well as a dry-land only program:
  • Development Team for athletes aged 12 to 14
  • Race Team for athletes aged 14+
  • FITness Team, both for youth and adults, for athletes aged 12 and up.
What would you receive this spring/summer if you join one of these programs, and how will they work during COVID-19?
Race Team:
  • Weekly training plans by stage of development: T2T (14 to 16); L2T (15 to 20); T2C/W for Adults/Masters. Delivered on Fridays by 4:00 pm on Training Peaks or Google Sheets (TBD).
  • Weekly plan review Zoom meeting at 5:00 pm on Mondays (during COVID).
  • Tuesday Team Training at 6:00 pm on Zoom during COVID, and in person once COVID restrictions have been lifted.
  • Saturday training during COVID will be on your own. Detailed workout plan will be delivered by email. Once COVID restrictions are lifted we will move to every second Saturday team workouts, including our 3 scheduled full day camps.
Development Team and FIT Teams, including dry-land only programs:
  • Weekly email by 4:00 pm on Friday by group which will include meeting topic for Monday’s Zoom meeting, expected workout for Tuesday and detailed plan for Saturday.
  • Weekly plan review Zoom meeting on Mondays (during COVID) at 4:30 pm for Development Team, and 5:30 pm for FIT Teams.
We would like to highlight that COMPetitive program pricing (Race Team and Development Team) has been discounted because of COVID-19. The cost of joining the year-round program is the same as the cost of starting the program in September. We hope that this will encourage COMPetitive program members to join us this summer.
We have our fingers crossed that the pandemic situation will improve and we can begin to offer all programming as planned by the Fall.  We will look to you, our community, to help us come through these challenging times stronger, and encourage a friend or two to try out cross-country skiing and join in the fun with Lappe with winter.
For additional Club information and updates take a look at the monthly newsletter being sent out today as well.  We work hard to minimize the number of emails to Club members and conglomerate all our news into these important monthly updates.  If you are not yet subscribed, click here.
Finally, we miss all of you, and look forward to seeing you soon in one of our programs, either virtually or in person once we return to some sort of state of normalcy! If you have any questions or comments about our programs, or need help during registrations, please send me an email at [email protected]
